As an ECT, I have found the CTT@WWL Early Career Framework programme to be incredibly supportive and valuable throughout my early teaching career. One of the greatest strengths of the programme is the continuity it provides, offering high-quality support and professional development from day one as a trainee teacher right through to the end of ECT Year 2. This sustained guidance has helped me to develop my confidence, refine my classroom practice, and grow as a reflective and effective teacher.
The seminars have been particularly beneficial, providing opportunities to discuss classroom practice, behavior strategies, and the various Teaching Standards explored throughout the two-year period. I have especially enjoyed hearing from other ECTs who are at a similar stage in their careers, sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and learning about approaches that have been successful in different schools. It has been reassuring to know that others are experiencing similar journeys and to learn from their insights.
The mentors involved have been brilliant. They are supportive, approachable, and always willing to listen, ensuring that ECTs feel valued and looked after throughout their induction period. What stands out most about the programme is how strongly the Catholic values shine through in everything it does, creating a nurturing and caring environment where professional growth and personal wellbeing are equally important. Having direct access to Jane, Jess and Sarah and the wider ECF team has been invaluable, and it is clear that they genuinely care about the wellbeing and success of every ECT.
