At the beginning of my placement at my home school, I found a particular Y8 class very challenging in terms of behaviour management. Through regular teaching and showing interest in the pupils lives, I started to build relationships and this reduced disruptive behaviour. As a result lessons were able to flow much more smoothly which enhanced pupil progress. More content was covered as lesson time was maximised due to the improved relationships.
