My success story is from one of my Y8 classes in the Autumn term. I asked for the class to be added to my timetable after following a child with additional needs for a day. Even the Head of Year questioned why I wanted this on my timetable. After observing them for a few weeks, it was time to teach them. The first lesson was a little ropey with definite room for improvement. The next time I taught them I was a little nervous about what to expect and set my stall out early with my expectations. I ended the lesson on a high and had them working in silence. They engaged with the lesson and happily got on with the tasks which was a lovely experience.
